Introduction

Hey guys! :D
Well, as you probably already read, I'll be an exchange student. An exchange student from Rotary to Venezuela. And that's such a big honor for me! If you want to read and get to know more about Rotary read Anushkiiiii s Blog, she explained it pretty good!

First some stuff about me!

My name is Emilia, and I just turned sixteen yesterday! I'm from a town near Berlin, Germany. I've got two sisters. A dog called Max aswell.
I'm very interested in other countries and cultures. And I'm keen on learning new languages, in school I already learn German applause!  , English, French and Latin! Unfortunately my school doesn't offer more languages (except Greek, but well I think one dead language is enough) .  I hope I can speak Spanish fluent after my exchange. And I imagined starting Italian or Swedish afterwards! Well, in my free time I love to listen to music, I just fell in love with the Lumineers, they are awesome! I adore Keane too! I love to read books, while reading you are able to escape in your own world... .

I like to travel, honestly since now, I've only been in Sweden, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Spain and Italy-just Europe. I can't wait to explore America!!

My story:

With Rotary you can name three wishes for countries, but you should be open for every countries! My wishes were South Africa, Sweden and Spain. I was kind of sad, when my conselour (conselour is a person who's able for your home district) said that my district had no place for one of these countries.

Little digression about districts: Rotary is all over the world! Every country has got several district, so that organizing is easier. My district is 1940 in Germany and we are about 60 outbounds this year (outbounds=people who make an exchange, they are outbounds in their home countries and inbounds in their "exchange" country) . Every district has got some orientations, if you want to know more about Rotary. *click*

Well, in December 2012 I got a mail from my district, sayin' that there were no places, so I had to decide wether take Columbia or Venezuela. And well, my decision was, because a friend of me and me just made a presentation about International conflicts in Columbia, VENEZUELA!

Meanwhile I was often a bit confused, because, 1st on the orientation for parents they said that I'm planned for Columbia, but when I phoned my conselour she said "Noo, it's Venezuela!". A months later I got a mail from a Columbian district saying "Welcome to Columbia, Emilia!". I was like No, you can't go to Columbia!

But then finally I got a mail from my Venezuelan host family! And I love them!

Muchos besos, Emilia
